At the invitation of Associate Research Fellow Zhang Guohong, Associate Professor Zha Xianjie from the University of Science and Technology of China gave an academic presentation entitled "Using InSAR and aftershock data to limit blind causative fault and earthquake deformation inversion" in conference room 204 of our institute on April 27, 2018.

Dr. Zha is an associate professor in the School of Earth and Space Sciences of the University of Science and Technology of China and is engaged in InSAR and seismology research. His main research interests include using InSAR, GPS and earthquake wave observation data to monitor earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters, and studying the disaster process and mechanism of various natural disasters.

Associate Professor Zha briefly introduced the principle of InSAR and the development history of the SAR satellite, and described the deformation field and inversion of InSAR for the Nepalese earthquake of 2015 and the Menyuan earthquake of 2016. In addition, he put forward new views on the mechanism of the two causative faults and the geometrical structure of the causative faults.
