Technical inspection meeting on civil work of the ELF stations in the capital circle area was held

On August 5, 2013, the team of the Institute of Geology for “ELF earthquake prediction subsystem” project held a technical inspection meeting on civil work of the ELF stations in the capital circle area around Beijing and gave technical guidance to ensure smooth installation of electromagnetic instruments. Leaders of the Monitoring and Forecasting Department of CEA, project expert panel, Tianjin Earthquake Administration, Shandong Earthquake Administration, Inner Mongolia Earthquake Administration, Liaoning Earthquake Administration, Shanxi Earthquake Administration and Hebei Earthquake Administration, people in charge of construction of 15 stations and project team members attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Director Yin Gongming. Xiong Jianwei from the second division of the Monitoring and Forecasting Department of CEA, Researcher Ouyang Biao, the project leader, and Researcher Zhao Guoze, the chief scientist made speeches on the construction of ELF stations from different perspectives. Researcher Zhan Yan introduced relevant content about engineering and technical inspection of the construction of ELF stations in the capital circle. Researcher Tang Ji introduced installation of ELF instruments, software and data products. The people in charge of construction of the ELF stations presented the construction and completion status of instrument rooms, observation devices, electrical engineering and communication engineering of the stations. People attending the meeting provided many valuable opinions and suggestions on the station construction.

On August 6, the meeting arranged people to go to Tianjin Baodi ELF station to learn the construction of ELF observation devices, instrument rooms, power supply system and network communication. Nie Yongan, the Deputy Director-General of Tianjin Earth Administration went to Baodi station to guide the work.
